request.idempotency_key_in_use
A request under this idempotency key is still running
| Type | https://mthds.ai/errors/request.idempotency_key_in_use |
| Family | request: The HTTP request itself, before any run. |
| Domain | runtime: nobody could have acted beforehand, so whoever made the call waits, retries or reports the problem |
| Retry | yes: repeating the operation may succeed, after retry_after seconds when the problem gives it |
| HTTP status | 409 |
| Raised as | a problem document, sent as the body of an HTTP response or kept in a run's record |
What it means
An earlier request with the same idempotency key and the same body has not finished, so the runtime neither runs this one again nor has an answer to return yet.
What to do
Repeat the request unchanged, after retry_after seconds when the problem gives it. Once the first request has finished, the repeat returns its outcome.
Next steps
A problem carries the step aimed at whoever reads it: the first when its reader is the domain's actor, whoever made the call, and the second for any other reader.
| Reader | Kind | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| The domain's actor | wait |
Wait for the earlier request to finish, then repeat this one unchanged. |
| Any other reader | wait |
Wait for the earlier request to finish, then repeat this one unchanged. |
Detail
The problem's detail is written from this template, filled with the occurrence's parameters:
An earlier request with the same idempotency key and the same body is still in flight.
Parameters
This code declares no parameters, so its problems carry no params.
