pipe.template_render_failed
A template failed to render
| Type | https://mthds.ai/errors/pipe.template_render_failed |
| Family | pipe: A pipe failing at run time because of what the method does. |
| Domain | method: the method's author acts, by changing the method |
| Retry | no: repeating the operation fails the same way |
| HTTP status | 422 |
| Raised as | a problem document, sent as the body of an HTTP response or kept in a run's record |
What it means
A method's template raised while rendering with this run's values, such as a filter applied to a value it cannot take. The problem does not carry what the template engine reported, which can quote the run's inputs or outputs; an implementation keeps it for whoever runs the runtime, in its logs for instance.
What to do
Check how the template uses the variable params.variable names, rendering it locally on the same inputs to read the engine's report, or reading the report where whoever runs the runtime keeps it. Guard the read if the value can be absent, and run the method again.
Next steps
A problem carries the step aimed at whoever reads it: the first when its reader is the domain's actor, the method's author, and the second for any other reader.
| Reader | Kind | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| The domain's actor | change_method |
Fix the template of pipe '{pipe}' where it reads '{variable}', then run the method again. |
| Any other reader | contact_owner |
Ask the method's owner to fix the template of pipe '{pipe}'. |
