pipe.binding_failed
A binding step could not bind its value
| Type | https://mthds.ai/errors/pipe.binding_failed |
| Family | pipe: A pipe failing at run time because of what the method does. |
| Domain | method: the method's author acts, by changing the method |
| Retry | no: repeating the operation fails the same way |
| HTTP status | 422 |
| Raised as | a problem document, sent as the body of an HTTP response or kept in a run's record |
What it means
At run time a bound value contradicts the structure its concept declares, so the binding step cannot walk its path. The problem names the segment and never what the runtime found there, which is the run's own data.
What to do
Check the step's from path against the value the earlier step produced, and correct the path or the concept.
Next steps
A problem carries the step aimed at whoever reads it: the first when its reader is the domain's actor, the method's author, and the second for any other reader.
| Reader | Kind | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| The domain's actor | change_method |
Correct the binding '{binding}' of pipe '{pipe}', or the structure it reads, then run the method again. |
| Any other reader | contact_owner |
Ask the method's owner to fix the binding '{binding}' of pipe '{pipe}'. |
Detail
The problem's detail is written from this template, filled with the occurrence's parameters:
