method.package_invalid
The method's package breaks a package rule
| Type | https://mthds.ai/errors/method.package_invalid |
| Family | method: The method as written, the validation vocabulary included. |
| Domain | method: the method's author acts, by changing the method |
| Retry | no: repeating the operation fails the same way |
| HTTP status | 422 |
| Raised as | a problem document, sent as the body of an HTTP response or kept in a run's record |
What it means
The package's layout, manifest, lock, files or size break a rule: a symbolic link, too many files or bytes, no manifest, no source, or file names that clash or cannot be loaded. The protocol's refusals of a files map that is not a tree, and of a blob or a tree past a runner's limits, are this code.
What to do
Read params.reason, and params.path or params.limit when they are given, then fix the tree: remove the symbolic link, rename the clashing file, or trim the tree under the limit.
Next steps
A problem carries the step aimed at whoever reads it: the first when its reader is the domain's actor, the method's author, and the second for any other reader.
| Reader | Kind | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| The domain's actor | change_method |
Bring the method's tree within the package rules, then send it again. |
| Any other reader | contact_owner |
Ask the method's owner to bring the method's tree within the package rules. |
Detail
The problem's detail is written from this template, filled with the occurrence's parameters:
